HARRY POTTER REVEALS CASTING FOR HOGWARTS STUDENTS AHEAD OF NEW SERIES ON HBO

The HBO Original Harry Potter television series has cast screen newcomers Dominic McLaughlin in the role of Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley.

Also cast are John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore; Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall; Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape; Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid; Luke Thallon as Quirinus Quirrell and Paul Whitehouse as Argus Filch.
The series will be a faithful adaptation of the beloved Harry Potter book series by author and executive producer J.K. Rowling and will feature an exciting and talented cast to lead a new generation of fandom, full of the fantastic detail and much-loved characters Harry Potter fans have adored for over 25 years.

Exploring every corner of the wizarding world, each season will bring Harry Potter and its incredible adventures to new and existing audiences and will stream exclusively on Max where it’s available globally, including upcoming markets such as Turkey, the UK, Germany, and Italy, among others.

Announced this week are: Orson Matthews has joined the cast as the proud and enthusiastic Gryffindor Quidditch team captain, Oliver Wood. He is joined by fellow team members, Asha Soetan as Angelina Johnson, Eire Farrell as Katie Bell and Serrana Su-Ling Bliss as Alicia Spinnet.

Also joining this courageous house is Ethan Smith as the Weasley twins’ best friend (and hilarious Quidditch commentator), Lee Jordan. In the Hufflepuff common room are India Moon as Hannah Abbott. She is joined by James Trevelyan Buckle as Justin Finch-Fletchley – the Muggle-born originally destined for Eton. Cian Eagle-Service is Ernie MacMillan and Jazmyn Lewin plays Susan Bones.
Anjula Murali is joining the cast as Padma Patil, the twin sister of Gryffindor, Parvati Patil. Aaron Zhao is also joining as Ravenclaw member of Harry’s year group, Terry Boot. While Scarlett Archer is set to play Penelope Clearwater and Eve Walls joins as Lisa Turpin.

Oliver Croft is set to play Slytherin Quidditch team captain Marcus Flint. He is joined by Slytherin Chasers D’Angelou Osei-Kissiedu as Graham Montague and Dylan Heath as Adrian Pucey. Cornelius Brandreth plays Seeker, Terence Higgs. While Eddison Burch has been cast as Keeper, Miles Bletchley. James Dowell is Lucian Bole and Henry Medhurst is Peregrine Derrick, the team Beaters.
Finally, Laila Barwick plays friend of Draco Malfoy, Pansy Parkinson.
The upcoming series is written and executive produced by Francesca Gardiner.
