ITV announced the commission of Freddie Flintoff’s Mission: Nepal (w/t) a 3-part documentary series from 72 Films, a Fremantle company, following Freddie Flintoff and his inspirational surgeon Mr Jahrad Haq as they travel to Nepal on a mission to deliver life-changing facial surgery.

In 2022, Freddie’s life changed forever after a car crash left him with life-altering facial injuries. He underwent extensive reconstructive surgery led by maxillofacial surgeon Mr Jahrad Haq. Now, he returns to screens with renewed purpose to witness how specialist surgical care can be delivered around the world in countries where access to healthcare is limited.
“After my crash I had access to the best people. Not everyone gets that. If there's a way to shine a light on it, to use what profile I've got for that, then that's what I'll do…”
Freddie’s adventure will take him all over Nepal to meet patients of all ages and backgrounds, walking a mile in their shoes before their life-changing surgery. As Freddie throws himself into Nepalese life, Mr Haq will join charity Face Facts on their mission to operate on patients who have little or no access to free healthcare. This deeply personal journey for Freddie, will also shine a light on the charity’s incredible effort to create lasting, sustainable change within the healthcare system.
Clare Cameron, Executive Producer at 72 Films, said: “This series is about humanity, resilience and the power of shared expertise. We’re privileged to be working with Face Facts, Mr Haq and Freddie, whose own experiences will bring real empathy and openness to the story.”
Joe Mace, Commissioning Editor - Entertainment, ITV said “We are excited to follow Freddie and the team on this journey, one that will combine intimate personal storytelling with extraordinary medical access.”
Freddie Flintoff’s Mission: Nepal (w/t) is produced by 72 Films, a Fremantle company. The Executive Producers are David Glover and Clare Cameron, the Series Producer is Alice Keane. Fremantle are handling international distribution.
