First Dates | Series 19 Preview (Channel 4)

First Dates returns for a brand-new series, and to the Manchester restaurant where maître d' Fred Sirieix and his team prepare once again to play Cupid, as they welcome an array of singletons all hoping to be served the love of their lives.

Essex-born cleaning fanatic Fleur is 'all for feminism', but her dream is to be the perfect housewife. Her physical type is that classic Essex boy look - coiffed haircut and pearly white teeth.

Self-proclaimed 'typical Essex boy' Louis has a beauty regime including full body hair removal, making him 'as bald as a china doll from the neck down'. But will Fleur still think Louis is husband material when he reveals he's been working as a high-end escort?

Next to arrive is 35-year-old Ian, from County Durham, who admits that many women are put off by his eccentric dress sense. Ian is full of contradictions, which include working as a gas fitter while also running an art gallery with a champagne bar. Could 32-year-old medical lab assistant Michaela be the woman to love all of his quirks?

Twenty-eight-year-old Gracey from London is looking to meet a successful man to start a family with. Her date is the hunky Meshach, a managing director also from London. He certainly ticks Gracey's boxes, but a disagreement about the immaculate conception threatens to derail their date.

Nicky is 55; she became a mum for the first time when she adopted in her 50s and sacrificed a long-term relationship to fulfil her dream of motherhood. She's struggled to find a man her age who is happy to date a woman with young children. Could 51-year-old foster carer Chris be the one to change her fortunes?

The next episode will be available as a first look on All 4 straight after the transmission of this one on Thursday 21st July.
