DOCTOR WHO: THREE NEW PICS FROM LEGENDS OF THE SEA DEVILS RELEASED

The BBC have (officially) released three new images from the upcoming Doctor Who special 'Legend Of The Sea Devils'. A full gallery of images released by the BBC so far, including those released in January, is available at the bottom of this page.

The three images have been released on the day that marks 17 years since Doctor Who returned to TV screens in 2005. Further details and promotional material for Legend Of The Sea Devils is expected very, very soon.

The special, which airs next month on BBC One, will see the long awaited return of the Sea Devils, a classic monster first seen with the third Doctor Jon Pertwee in The Sea Devils (1972).

The episode finds The Doctor (Jodie Whittaker), Yaz (Mandip Gill) and Dan (John Bishop) in 19th century China, where a small coastal village is under threat – from both the fearsome pirate queen Madame Ching (Crystal Yu) and a monstrous alien force which she unwittingly unleashes.

Will the Doctor, Yaz and Dan emerge from this swashbuckling battle with the Sea Devils to save the planet? The episode guest stars Arthur Lee as Ji-Hun and Marlowe Chan-Reeves as Ying Ki.

Legend Of The Sea Devils marks the penultimate episode for Jodie Whittaker's Doctor before she regenerates this Autumn in an as-yet-untitled special to mark the BBC's centenary. The identity of the next Doctor will be announced "in due course".

Doctor Who: Legend Of The Sea Devils airs this April on BBC One. Previous episodes of Doctor Who are available on BBC iPlayer. Classic Doctor Who is available on BritBox, with selected episodes currently airing on Forces TV.

An exact air date for Legend Of The Sea Devils has not yet been confirmed by the BBC. Stay tuned...
