DOCTOR WHO UNLEASHED: DAVID TENNANT HINTS AS CONFIDENTIAL-STYLE SERIES

As previously reported by TV Zone and The Mirror last year, the BBC have reportedly commissioned 'Doctor Who: Unleashed', a behind the scenes spin-off which will go behind the scenes of the main show.

The series, presented by BBC radio presenter Steffan Powell, will follow a similar format to that of Doctor Who Confidential (2005-12) and Doctor Who Extra (2014). The Mirror reports the spin-off will continue to air alongside Series 14 when Ncuti Gatwa takes the keys to the TARDIS.

The BBC have not formerly announced or confirmed the series, which is understood to be airing on BBC Three, though David Tennant as hinted at the existence of the series whilst speaking at a Galaxy Con event.

Tennant said: "It was absolutely thrilling. It was all filmed by all the various Doctor Who Confidential-style people, so you'll see all that. But it was very exciting for us, for them to visit us on set."

A source previously told the Mirror: "Doctor Who confidential was hugely popular amongst fans when Christopher Eccleston brought the show back as the Ninth Doctor and that continued during David's tenure in the TARDIS as the Tenth Doctor...

"Russell is aware that Doctor Who fans can never get enough content when it comes to the show and how it is made, with David and Catherine making a sensational return to the show, he thought the time was right to bring back the behind the scenes show which will document their comebacks and show how the special was made."

Doctor Who returns this November with three specials starring David Tennant and Catherine Tate. Previous episodes of Doctor Who are available now on BBC iPlayer.
