DELICACY: CHANNEL 4 COMMISSION NEW COMEDY BASED ON KATY WIX BOOK

Channel 4 have commissioned new comedy series Delicacy, based on the book from Katy Wix. TV Zone understands filming will begin this November with casting announced in due course.
The synopsis reads: "From award-winning comedian and writer Katy Wix comes Delicacy - a different kind of memoir from an astonishing new voice. Twenty-one snapshots of a life - some staccato, raw and shocking, some expansive, meditative, and profound, underpinned with moments of startling humour that shatter the darkness - all beginning with a single memory. A memory of cake.
The sickly royal icing marked the moment Katy found her voice. The madeira cake was the sun her group therapy sessions orbited. The 'missing cake' from a lost holiday has never let go. The Bara brith eaten in hospital after a life-altering car crash was as tough as the metal that hit her. The supermarket rock cake was where she 'practised wanting'.

Meanwhile, Channel 4 are to launch new comedy Break Clause, starring Samuel Bottomley (How to Have Sex) as Ben and Lara Ricote (Mitchell And Webb Are Not Helping) as Lil. Joining Samuel and Lara are John Thomson (Cold Feet) as Alan, Lucy Black (Gentleman Jack) as Deb, Catherine Cohen (Sentimental Value) as Jos, Charly Clive (Rooster) as Frances.
Their relationship's over. Their tenancy isn't. Break Clause follows Ben and Lil as they navigate their breakup whilst stuck in the same flat. Moving on from your first love is hard enough. Moving out is even harder...
Also starring are Hammed Animashaun (Black Ops) as Paul, Michael Workéyè (The Moment) as Kas, Jessica Knappett (Avoidance) as the Vicar, Nathan Foad (Our Flag Means Death) as Owen, Assa Kanouté (Boarders) as Kira, Jack Shep (SNL UK) as Liam, Tamika Bennett as Nic, Jack James Ryan (I Fought the Law) as Jordan and Lucas Jones (Get Millie Black) as Sean.
