CLASSIC CAR GARAGE: UKTV ANNOUNCE NEW SERIES FOR YESTERDAY

UKTV has commissioned the new observational documentary series, Classic Car Garage (10x60') for its leading factual channel, Yesterday.

Produced by ClockWork Films and now in production, the programme follows Colin Denton, a dedicated and skilled head mechanic who opens his North London garage on the weekends for classic car owners to come and get the help they need to keep their precious cars on the road.

Colin, himself the proud owner of a beautiful 1977 Triumph Stag, boasts a wealth of automotive experience and expertise and his passion has led to him opening his doors to share his knowledge with other owners and classic car club members who may love their classics just as much.

But, they do not have the equipment, skills, or confidence to do the jobs that can keep them running and looking as they should. Colin also has a team of fellow experts who also advise owners and help diagnose and solve problems in their own specialist areas.

Colin and his team tinker with a wide range of cars, from should-be museum pieces from the 1930s to modern classics and everything in between - even an electric milk float is welcomed into the Classic Car Garage.

Among the cars worked on in the series are a 1931 MG M-Type Sportsman's Coupe, a 1978 Austin Allegro S2, a 1974 Mk3 Jensen Interceptor, a 1982 Vauxhall Viceroy, a 1990 Mercedes-Benz 230e and lots more.

Many of the cars the team look at are due to head to some of the prestigious events on the classic car calendar such as the Hampton Court Palace Concours of Elegance, The Classic at Silverstone, Goodwood Revival and CarFest South. But can Colin and the team make sure they get there in fine fettle?

Classic Car Garage is commissioned for UKTV by senior commissioning editor, Helen Nightingale and ordered by Yesterday channel director, Gerald Casey and deputy director of commissioning, Hilary Rosen. Produced by ClockWork Films, the executive producer is Heenan Bhatti, and the series producer is Paul Windle.

UKTV's Helen Nightingale said: "I'm so excited for our Yesterday viewers to see this stunning new series. Full of tips, hacks and fascinating facts, experts and amateurs all brought together for the love of classic cars."

Heenan Bhatti, ClockWork Films' founder said: "From the moment we came across Colin, we knew we had discovered something very special - watching him and his incredible team solve these mechanical mysteries is simply wonderful...

"What the Classic Car Garage provides is an array of stories with authentic jeopardy and warmth in abundance, whilst delivering a look book of gorgeous cars and a VIP pass to a plethora of the classic car community's most loved events...

"We must express our thanks to Helen and the whole UKTV team, who have backed ClockWork Films, as a growing regional indie, through the development and production of this exciting new series."

Classic Car Garage joins Bangers & Cash and spin-off sister show, Bangers & Cash: Restoring Classics on the Yesterday channel, both of which will also have new series on air in 2023.
