Channel 4’s acclaimed digital-first documentary strand UNTOLD is back with a bold new season that dives deep into some of the most pressing, provocative, and underreported issues shaping modern life.

Available to stream first on Channel 4’s digital platforms, UNTOLD pushes boundaries with unparalleled access, fearless storytelling, and raw honesty — featuring a fresh slate of compelling documentaries that reveal what’s really happening behind closed doors.

Chloe Burrows: 28 Dates Later

Former Love Islander Chloe Burrows will investigate why young people are ditching dating apps and ask if in-person dating is the key to forming long lasting romantic connections. Chloe will road test a variety of real-world dates and meet experts to investigate concerns about dating apps from gamification to artificial intelligence. We’ll also gather new data about the dating habits of 18–35-year-olds from how much they spend on dating to their worries about safety. Produced by Flicker Productions.

The Secrets of TikTok Shop

Mariam Musa fronts this eye-opening documentary, presenting the ultimate guide to the booming — and sometimes baffling — world of TikTok Shop. From beauty to toilet roll, UNTOLD lays bare how the app is reshaping online retail, and reveals the staggering sums some are making selling on the site. Produced by Firecrest Films.

Confessions of a Prison Officer

Presented by David Navarro, this hard-hitting follow up to The Secrets of UK Prisons uses powerful user-generated content and intimate interviews to uncover a shocking hidden world inside UK prisons, this time focusing on prison officer corruption. With whistleblower accounts from prison officers and prisoners themselves, the film exposes shocking attitudes towards inmate relationships, illicit drug use, and a culture of unchecked violence. The Secret of UK Prisons II is produced by Dare Pictures.

Hunting My Sextortion Scammer

If you ask young men to check their DMs on social media, many will find a seemingly innocuous message from an attractive young woman or man. But increasingly they aren't who they say they are. They are criminals who lure victims into sharing intimate photos. Then they threaten to publish unless their victims pay up.

Sextortion, or sexual blackmail, is now the most prevalent form of image abuse in the UK. The NCA reported that in the first 5 months of 2024 police forces received 117 reports a month from under 18s.

Janine Thomas, Commissioning Editor for UNTOLD, said: “UNTOLDcontinues to be a fearless voice for young audiences, tackling taboo topics, lifting the lid on hidden subcultures, and giving voice to those who are often unheard. This season of ambitious and exciting documentaries promises to inform, provoke and spark vital conversation.”

This season of UNTOLD will available to stream first on Channel 4 and Channel 4’s YouTube channel.
