A look at the new and returning drama titles coming to Channel 5 this year.

 NUMBER 10

There’s a Prime Minister in the attic, a coffee bar in the basement, and a wallpapered labyrinth of romance, crisis and heartbreak in-between. Set in the only terrace house in history with mice and a nuclear deterrent, it’s the only knock-through in the world where a hangover can start a war.  The government will be fictional and unspecific, but the problems will be real.

We’ll never know which party is in power, because once the whole world hits the fan it barely matters. This is a show about the building and everyone inside. Not just the Prime Minister upstairs, but the conspiracy theorist who runs the cafe three floors below, the man who repairs the lift that never works, the madly ambitious ‘advisors’ fighting for office space in cupboards. Oh, and of course, the cat.

 THE UNDECLARED WAR

Simon Pegg (Mission Impossible, Star Trek) returns as Danny Patrick, Director of Operations at GCHQ (U.K.’s Government Communications Headquarters). Siân Brooke (Blue Lights, Trying) joins the series as Barbara Patrick, Danny’s wife, ex-MI6 and now an analyst at GCHQ.

Set in 2024, The Undeclared War returns with a fresh wave of tension and drama as the elite Malware Department at GCHQ grapples with the aftermath of a devastating Russian cyber-attack. Just when it seems the UK has gained the upper hand, Danny and the team uncover a far more dangerous threat.

 PIERRE

Pierre (David Harewood) is a West London duty solicitor and a force of nature: charming and funny, juggling the pressures of his job, a fragile personal life and just keeping his head above water financially. His resilience is tested when he begins investigating the suspicious death of a young black client, Michael. As Pierre challenges the police's portrayal of Michael as a criminal, he unravels a chilling web of institutional corruption… when you come at the system, the system comes at you…

 MAYA

Bella Ramsey plays the titular, Maya, teenage daughter of Anna (Haggard). Forced into a witness protection programme to escape a life-threatening danger, Anna and Maya leave their London lives behind, taking on new identities and relocating to a small rural town in Scotland. As they try to adjust to their new reality, the trauma of their past continues to haunt them in the form of two hitmen intent on tracking them down. As the walls close in, it becomes clear that a dangerous figure from their past is still a looming threat.

Transmission details will be announced in due course.
