Channel 4’s digital channel, Channel 4.0, has ordered two new original series to drop this summer. The series have been commissioned from Acclaimed Content and Cowshed Studios, both securing repeat commissions for the channel.

Produced by Cowshed Studios, part of Cowshed Collective, comes the hilarious entertainment show The Intern. It offers 80 amateur creators the chance to secure a once in a lifetime opportunity with four of the UK’s biggest creators.

With only one internship up for grabs in each of the four episodes, 20 contestants will face the most unorthodox job interview as they take on creative and problem-solving challenges. Interviewed and ultimately hired by a C4.0 star - Angry Ginge, Nella Rose, Harry Pinero or Darkest Man – the four lucky winners will be selected by this panel of stars to win the dream gig of shadowing one of them on a production shoot. This format was developed by Nathan Turnbull and is executive produced by Ryan O’Shea and George Cowin.

The latest series to add to the C4.0 slate will be Family Face-Off where two creators go head-to-head with their fam entail in this quiz competition. In each episode, two equally competitive and unfiltered families must answer a series of questions to prove who knows their relatives best.

From the minds of Acclaimed Content, Nella Rose vs. Indiyah Polack, Krept & Konan vs. Adeola Patronne, engaged couple Danny Aarons’ family against Tennessee Thresher’s are just half the showdowns in this six-part series hosted by Darkest Man. There’s no holding back when the family’s name is on the line. Executive produced by Anton Inwood, and series produced by Chris Goodson from Acclaimed Content.

Evie Buckley, Digital Commissioning Editor and Channel 4.0 Lead, Channel 4 commented: “I can’t wait for our latest slate full of fresh new shows to drop on Channel 4.0 this summer. New formats, new talent and the same old chaos, I hope these series resonate with our audience and are as much-loved as our other fan-favourites on the channel.”

Kaio Grizzelle, Digital Commissioning Executive, Channel 4 added: “The creativity from Acclaimed Content and Cowshed Studios has resulted in a series of hilarious formats that spotlight Channel 4.0 creators in a style that feels prime for audiences on social. These chaos-fuelled series feel like an exciting new chapter in C4.0’s evolution and hit all the notes we’re confident the Channel 4.0 audience will love.”

Family Face-Off is commissioned by Evie Buckley, Digital Commissioning Editor and Channel 4.0 Lead. The Intern is commissioned by Kaio Grizzelle, Digital Commissioning Executive, Channel 4.0. Sacha Khari is Channel 4’s Head of Digital Commissioning.
