Celebrity Big Brother is reportedly set to be axed by ITV after two series. Last year it was revealed the star-studded edition of the reality series was to be rested for this year and expected to return in 2027 in its new home on ITV2.

However, The Sun newspaper now reports that this is in doubt, with many believing Celebrity Big Brother will not return at all. ITV previously stated it was "committed" to Celebrity Big Brother beyond 2025, however responding to The Sun's report today, ITV have only said "no decisions" have been made.

Meanwhlie, the civilain series of Big Brother, produced by Initial, part of Banijay UK, returns this autumn for its fourth series on ITV2 and ITVX. However, it will be without its live daily spin-off series Late & Live which was axed after the last series.

A new batch of Housemates from every corner of the UK will take up residence in the nation’s most famous home which returns with a stylish new look, setting the stage for eight weeks of drama, laughter and unmissable moments. Prepare for shocking twists, elaborate challenges, high-pressure nominations, and gripping live evictions.

As alliances form and rivalries ignite, a group of strangers will go head-to-head in the original social experiment to claim the top spot and take home a life-changing cash prize.

Last series, viewers crowned Richard the winner of the third series, who walked away victorious as Big Brother celebrated 25 years on screen. Since arriving on ITV in 2023, the Big Brother brand has exceeded an enormous 163 million streams on ITVX.

More details will be announced in due course.
