Following her exclusive announcement on Channel 5’s Jeremy Vine this morning and the hotly anticipated return of Celebrity Big Brother, show icon Narinder Kaur is delighted to confirm the upcoming release of her book Big Brother: The Inside Story – a definitive deep-dive into the show that changed television forever.

Originally published by Virgin Books in 2007, The Inside Story became a cult favourite among fans for its behind-the-scenes insight into the Big Brother phenomenon. Now, Narinder has reclaimed the rights and is marking the show’s 25th anniversary with an expanded and updated edition, releasing on 18 April 2025.
Big Brother is more than just a TV show – it’s a cultural juggernaut that shaped the landscape of modern reality television, mirrored British society, and ignited national debates and even international incidents.
The original edition featured a treasure trove of interviews with legendary housemates, from Makosi Musambasi and Kinga Karolczak to winners Kate Lawler, Brian Dowling and Nadia Almada, as well as commentary from industry insiders like former Creative Director, Philip Edgar-Jones OBE and Big Brother psychotherapist Rachel Morris.
The updated edition retains these interviews, but now expands into the show’s Channel 5 and ITV chapters, offering an unflinching, unfiltered exposé from one of the show’s most outspoken voices. With brand-new, often explosive interviews from housemates, insiders and production talent, this edition lifts the lid on 25 years of drama, controversy, love, betrayal and everything in between. It will be TV’s bombshell book of the year!
Contributors include iconic contestants from across the show’s lifespan – from the Channel 4 golden years and Ultimate Big Brother, through to Celebrity Big Brother standouts and the most unforgettable Channel 5 and ITV-era stars.

“Going back in time and hearing the housemates’ stories has been surreal,” says Narinder. “While everyone’s experience is so different, there are shared truths. From Fight Night to the infamous hot tub scenes and Kinga’s bottle moment – it’s all here, straight from the horse’s mouth. You won’t be disappointed!”
The book also includes insights from some of the UK’s most respected showbiz journalists, whose careers have run alongside Big Brother’s cultural rise.
As Big Brother celebrates its silver anniversary, this book serves as the ultimate companion to the show’s enduring legacy. With over 550 series across 67 countries, the format’s global reach is undeniable – but its British roots remain the most iconic.
Whether you’re a lifelong fan or newly obsessed with ITV’s reboot, Big Brother: The Inside Story is a must-read. It’s a candid, comprehensive and often shocking account of life inside – and after – the house, told by those who lived it.
