CELEBRITY LINE-UP REVEALS FOR CHRISTMAS SPECIALS OF THE WHEEL, BLANKETY BLANK AND THE WEAKEST LINK ON BBC ONE

The celebrity line-ups for The Wheel, Blankety Blank and The Weakest Link Christmas specials have been announced by the BBC.

Richard Osman, Mel Giedroyc and Paddy McGuinness are the special celebrity contestants, hoping to answer their way to a festive fortune for their chosen charities.

Eight celebrity experts are on hand to use their knowledge of all things Christmas, to help the three famous faces bank as much cash as possible. Gyles Brandreth, Josie Gibson, Big Narstie, Tim Vine, Zara McDermott, Gladiator’s very own Nitro and Gavin and Stacey legends Matthew Horne and Joanna Page will each have their time in the spotlight, answering questions on everything from reindeer to festive food.

In each show, seven fantastic celebrities are strapped to the circumference of the giant wheel. Each celebrity has brought one area of expertise to the show – and it is on these areas that the contestants must answer questions.

The contestants themselves are underneath The Wheel, on another smaller wheel! This Contestant Wheel is spun, and whichever contestant is randomly selected, rises up on their chair, to take their place at the centre of The Wheel and begin the game.

 The Weakest Link

Romesh Ranganathan brings his festive cheer to a star-studded Christmas Special of The Weakest Link. Eight celebrities will initially have to work together to try to win up to £50,000 for their individual chosen charity, in one of the world’s most iconic quizzes.

Romesh Ranganathan brings his festive cheer to a star-studded Christmas Special of The Weakest Link. The festive line up is Lou Sanders, Martine McCutcheon, David O’Doherty, Ade Adepitan, Ross King, Jess Wright, Eddie Kadi and Blu Hydrangea.

New Year Party Special

Eight more celebrities hope to show off their general knowledge and bank as much money as possible for charity, before voting off The Weakest Link each round. Celebrity contestants in this episode are Charlotte Crosby, Patsy Palmer, Keith Brymer-Jones, Ian ‘H’ Watkins, Fatima El Ghorri, Merlin Griffiths, Bash The Entertainer and Luke Hamnett.

 Blankety Blank

The iconic gameshow Blankety Blank returns for a festive special on BBC One. Bradley Walsh is joined by six big name celebrities who will help four contestants to try and win some of telly’s most ‘unique’ prizes by filling in the missing BLANKS.

The celebrity line-up is Alex Brooker, Charlotte Church, Daniel Mays, Jack Dee, Motsi Mabuse, Stephanie Beacham.
