BBC ONE ANNOUNCE NEW DAYTIME MAGAZINE SHOW

It will air after BBC Breakfast at 9:15am on BBC One.

Each day the hosts Kym Marsh and Gethin Jones will be joined by a familiar face from the BBC Daytime and Early Peak presenting family including Dr Xand van Tulleken (HealthCheck UK Live), Rav Wilding (Crimewatch Roadshow), Anna Haugh (Ready Steady Cook), Will Kirk (The Repair Shop) and Sabrina Grant (BBC Two’s forthcoming new afternoon format Saved and Remade - w/t).

Kym Marsh says: “I’ve always enjoyed morning TV, it’s a great way to start the day (with a cuppa in hand of course). I love nothing more than a good catch up, although this will be on a slightly different scale, more of a daily conversation with our lovely viewers. I think variety is key so I’m really excited to work with Gethin and our fantastic guest presenters to bring the latest in lifestyle, health and consumer concerns.”

Gethin Jones says: “A presenting role on a morning show like this is a bit of a dream for me. What I’m most excited about is the opportunity to delve in to some of the biggest issues at the heart of our everyday lives right now. My parents have been shielding and my sister works in a hospital so, as is the case for lots of people, this year has been such a worry. For me, this show couldn’t come at a better time. I’m looking forward to working alongside Kym to bring viewers across the UK a much needed boost and of course the important information they need.”

Carla-Maria Lawson, Head of BBC Daytime and Early Peak, says: “In what’s been a challenging year for all of us, BBC One’s Morning Live is a response to what viewers have told us about the importance of our live offerings over lockdown, connecting with their real life concerns and offering trustworthy, expert advice as well as optimism and entertainment. We are also really excited to have the opportunity to be introducing some exciting new talent to our fantastic family of presenters and trusted guides.”

Morning Live (40x45’) will air weekdays at 9:15am on BBC One.
