BAFTA has today announced renowned comedian Greg Davies as the host of the 2026 BAFTA Television Awards with P&O Cruises, to be held on Sunday 10 May at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall and broadcast that evening on BBC One and iPlayer.

Greg Davies is one of the UK's most beloved comedians, writers and actors. Known for his towering presence and distinctive comedy style, he first came to prominence as the intimidating but loveable Mr Gilbert in The Inbetweeners, before creating and starring in the critically acclaimed Channel 4 sitcom Man Down, writing and starring in BBC One’s hit crime scene comedy, The Cleaner and hosting Sky’s Never Mind the Buzzcocks.
As host of Channel 4's BAFTA award-winning Taskmaster, he presides over Alex Horne's mischief with warmth, wit and endless glee. His ability to bring genuine surprise and laughter to any occasion makes him a perfect choice to host this year's BAFTA Television Awards with P&O Cruises.
Today’s announcement kicks off the countdown to the 2026 BAFTA Television Awards with P&O Cruises, Britain’s biggest night in TV, recognising the programmes and creative talent that captured the hearts and minds of BAFTA’s television voting membership. The nominations will be unveiled for all competitive categories across both the BAFTA Television Awards with P&O Cruises and BAFTA Television Craft Awards on Tuesday 24 March at 12.00pm GMT.
Greg Davies said: “I am thrilled to be presenting the 2026 BAFTA Television Awards with P&O Cruises. I see the whole event as an opportunity to wave a flag for this beloved medium and, with the exception of one commissioner, two execs and a co-star that I have personal beef with, I will do everything I can to ensure it’s a night of warm celebration for all.”
Emma Baehr, executive director of Awards & Content at BAFTA, said: “We’re excited to have Greg Davies hosting this year’s BAFTA Television Awards with P&O Cruises. His sharp humour, warmth and energy will set the stage for an unforgettable night honouring the very best in British television. The ambition, craft, and sheer range of talent on-screen and behind it continues to raise the bar. We can’t wait to shine a spotlight on the creatives who defined 2025’s standout programmes.”
Last year’s BAFTA Television Awards with P&O Cruises delivered an average audience of 2.5 million on BBC One and iPlayer, while @BAFTA socials generated over 23 million video views on awards day.
P&O Cruises is the headline partner for the BAFTA Television Awards for the fourth year running.
