Hot on the heels of his EMMY Award win last month, a six-part documentary series going behind the scenes of Alan Cumming’s New York based gay bar and nightclub, Club Cumming, has been greenlit for WOW Presents Plus.

Titled Club Cumming, the exciting new reality series will be produced by the Emmy-award winning media company behind the Drag Race franchise, World of Wonder, with a view to air in 2026.
Featuring a fully queer cast of characters including cabaret singer Daphne Always, gogo dancer and drag performer Michelle Wynters, drag queen Brini Maxwell, drag king Cunning Stunt, comedian Jake Cornwell, Club Cumming co-owner and manager Darren Dryden alongside Alan Cumming himself, the series is set to be a distinct and compelling addition to the WOW Presents Plus platform, which continues to boldly spotlight and champion queer voices, stories and talent.
Located in New York’s Lower East Side, Club Cumming is a small nightclub where big personalities with even bigger talent pursue their wildest dreams. Founded by the trailblazing actor, writer, producer and presenter, Alan Cumming, it hosts a variety of drag and cabaret performances and is one of the last hot spots in 21st century NYC, where up-and-coming artists cross paths with today’s established stars.
The series will give viewers a sneak-peak behind the stage curtains and follow the diverse cast of performers and employees as they hone their craft, chase big goals and navigate romantic relationships. Despite living in different neighbourhoods across the city, Club Cumming is their chosen home, and together, under the mentorship of Alan, this chosen family puts it all out there in this fast-paced, performance-fuelled and outrageously fun-filled documentary series.
Alan Cumming said of the series: “My vision for Club Cumming has always been to create the ethos of old New York nightlife: A place for all ages, all genders, all colors, all sexualities, where kindness is all and anything can happen! It’s a cabaret club but also a dance club, a drag club, an art club, a community centre, a safe space - it's whatever the LGBTQ+ community needs and wants it to be...
"I’m so happy that World of Wonder and WOW Presents Plus is making this show about our Club Cumming tribe and showcasing the talents and the stories and the lives of these queer icons of tomorrow. With their talent and chutzpah and lust for life they are teaching us all how to live and find joy even in a world that has the odds stacked up against us. I couldn’t be prouder to have my name attached to such a place of inspiration and love.”
Randy Barbato & Fenton Bailey, Co-founders of World of Wonder and Executive Producers, added: “In addition to being a brilliant award-winning actor and presenter, Alan, not content with his on-screen work, pours himself into his East Village venue, Club Cumming. Club Cumming provides a stage for the kind of wild and wonderful artists who deserve to be celebrated. The collective voices of Alan and the team makes for a roar that will make you laugh, make you cry and above all realize the importance of cumming together now more than ever. Bringing Club Cumming to the screen is an incredible honor.”
Club Cumming is executive produced by Fenton Bailey, Randy Barbato, Tom Campbell and Jeremy Simmons for World of Wonder, alongside Alan Cumming. The series, directed by Simmons, will have a global premiere exclusively on WOW Presents Plus in early 2026.
WOW co-founder and producer, Fenton Bailey and former CEO of Passion Distribution, Sally Miles, are in Cannes with Club Cumming and other World of Wonder formats including the Drag Race franchise, for meetings with international broadcasters and platforms.
The series will join an extensive catalogue of original programming and World of Wonder produced documentary films, licensed content and Drag Race from around the globe; all available to catch-up on now.
